With the money she earned from performing, Rosabel liked to go shopping and buy herself all sorts of new and interesting things. Claudia, her long suffering Personal Assistant, would often go with her on these shopping trips and help her decide what to buy, and carry her shopping bags.

On Saturday morning,

‘I will take it,

‘Good,
’ said Claudia, ‘well we better get home or you will be late for your concert.’

Once outside again, Claudia looked at her watch. ‘OK, home now so you can get changed into your new dress for tonight’s concert.’
But Rosabel wasn’t finished shopping yet, in fact it seemed to Claudia they would never get home!

Eventually though, she had to stop. They were just about to pay for a CD,
, when Claudia realised there was no money left in Rosabel’s purse! ‘It’s empty!’ She cried, ‘
!’
‘What?’ Rosabel cried in panic? ‘All my money? Gone?’

‘Yes!’ Claudia replied, ‘you’ve spent it all. And look at the time. You should be on stage in ten minutes!’ And so they flapped home as fast as they could under the weight of all Rosabel’s shopping bags. And they made it with only minutes to spare.

Rosabel didn’t even have time to change into her new dress! But it didn’t matter. As she took to the stage and sang sweetly, all her fans listened in awe, with no idea of the afternoon’s drama.

Whilst Rosabel was singing, poor Claudia ran herself a long bath to soothe her tired wings. Thank goodness the day was over!
