But his favourite thing, the thing he loved the most was.... Chocolate. ‘I love chocolate!
!’ And he ate chocolate all the time
! He ate chocolate for breakfast
, he ate chocolate for lunch
, and guess what? He ate chocolate for dinner
!

! I love chocolate!’ He would sing, and his little body would glow red with happiness. But too much chocolate was making poor Valentino fat! ‘I am fat!
!’ He cried one day, looking at his fat tummy in the mirror,

And so Valentino decided that this week he would search for a new favourite food, some healthy fruit that he could love just as much as chocolate.

On Monday
, Valentino saw some lovely green fruit
. ‘What is that?
?’ He asked Finlay the Fruitseller.
‘Apples
,’ replied Finlay as he passed the green apple to Valentino. Valentino took a big bite of the apple.
‘How is it?

‘I love it!’ sang Valentino, ‘
.’ The apple was very sweet.

On Tuesday
Valentino saw some orange fruit
. ‘What is that?
?’ he asked Finlay.
‘Oranges
,’ replied Finlay. Valentino ate a segment of the Orange.
‘How is it?
?’ asked Finlay.
‘I love it!’ nodded Valentino, ‘
!’ The Orange was very juicy.

On Wednesday
, Valentino saw some yellow fruit,
. ‘What is that?
?’ He asked Finlay.
‘Bananas
,’ replied Finlay. Valentino took a bite of the Banana.
‘How is it?
?’ asked Finlay. ‘I love it!’ cried Valentino. ‘
.’ The Banana was very soft.

On Thursday
Valentino saw some red fruit,

‘Strawberries
,’ replied Finlay. Valentino took a bite of the Strawberry.
‘How is it?

‘I love it!’ laughed Valentino, ‘
.’ The Strawberry was very tasty.

On Friday
Valentino saw some Purple fruit

‘Grapes
,’ replied Finlay. Valentino took a bite of the grape.....
‘How is it?
?’ asked Finlay. But Finlay stuck out his tongue.

And that made Finlay the fruitseller laugh.

On Saturday
, Valentino looked in the mirror again. He was much slimmer after a week without chocolate!
‘I love fruit!

On Sunday,
, Valentino felt very pleased with himself. He decided to go back to the market to see if he could find any more fruit which he liked.
But what did he find? The most beautiful sight he’d ever seen!
A stall piled high with lovely, sweet brown Chocolate!
